Sometimes, when we face things we think God is telling us to do, we feel like we’re lost in a fog.

Not because it just came up, but because it consistently comes up, no matter how often we shake our heads no.

Questioning whether you heard it right?

Lack of belief that He will provide for the possible losses as we filter our lives to honor Him? Losses of time, finances, relationships …because nothing can become an idol.

Have I been quenching the Spirit?

And the Lord tells you, for a period of seeking, to isolate yourself from the words of others who want to encourage you or fix the situation. Counsel, not opinions, can be good, but God’s counsel is best when He says, “Today, give Me alone your ear.”

I see my situation as the spiritual house I need to clean up. My life I need to steward. My relationship with God is one I need to examine to recognize why I’m resisting what He is telling me to take a step of faith in.

Where do I stand, Lord, in my relationship with you? What “little” things am I letting slide that hinder righteousness? That can hinder my trust in You and Your promises?

If I can’t get the little things in order, how can I expect the Lord to give me things that enable me to be the person He says I can be?

And so I do what I do, I write out my thoughts to clarify my questions and my reactions as I prepare to start the soul stewardship, and hope some prayers will be offered on my behalf.

This is my life as a child of God.

Blessings – Vicki
