Mark Sinclair had been content to begin research for his new novel. But a fire in his library started a series of events that turned his peaceful world upside down.  All he wanted was to start work on his latest novel in his restored Queen Anne, and suddenly, the St. Isles police department and then the FBI were investigating thefts, personal attacks, threats, and stalking. The evolving chaos touched his family, friends, employees, and former colleagues. By the time the tumultuous week was over, Mark knew nothing in his life could be the same and wondered if he’d ever write again.

Looking for a building where he could sell his statues, Deputy Sergeant Marshall Gibson came across a young girl, alone and frightened, standing in the middle of a road at the edge of the village of Baker Hill. Amid heavy tears, she claims her family has been violently taken.
Gibson, dealing with delayed physical recovery and emotional and spiritual battles resulting from a tragic event that injured him, becomes the liaison for Cindy as he, a Village of Baker Hill police lieutenant, a U.S. Marshal, a FBI Special Agent, and a State Criminal Investigator, form a task force to work together to discover what happened to the people taken, which included a woman in witness protection.

Quote of the week

Ephesians 5:1-2 (World English Bible)

Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children. Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
