I haven’t been on here as much as I planned, and I am working to change that. Life, for all of us, can bring surprises that disrupt plans. I’ve been sharing some of my faith writing on Facebook, and today’s post is one of those. My hope is to get back to sharing here and then send to social media sites from here.

As part of my draw to bring in the harvest, an important part is making disciples. I’ve been listening to a podcast that is helping me focus, and the podcaster has openly invited people to share what they hear with others, so that’s what I’m doing today.

To make disciples we have to be disciples, and that means continual seeking in our relationships with God. What I’m sharing are the notes I took as I listened, and it reads like notes, but maybe it can help you in your journey of faith. – Vicki

Somewhat lengthy early Sunday morning notes on the
Building an Identity in Christ lesson from The Leaders Cut.

You will always live your life according to your strongest belief.
Your identity is not built on what you’ve done.
Your identity is not built on what you are now doing.
Your identity is not built on possessions.
Your identity is not built on where you came from.
Your identity is not built on who you know.
Your identity is not built on who knows you.

Build your identity on Christ for the abundant life He came to give.
How?

Build your identity on “you are forgiven.” God gives it so He can have relationship with you.
Build your identity on your being a new creation. Not an update on your old you, but a totally new creation.
Build your identity on ‘you are loved.’ Rom 8:38-39. Nothing can separate us from the love of God.
Build your identity on being God’s child. He is Abba Father.
Build your identity on being a branch connected to the vine in God’s production of fruit.
Build your identity on “you are paid for.” God paid the highest price.
Build your identity on being an heir of God and joint heir with Jesus. God is the inheritance of his children-you get all of God.
Build your identity on being a temple of the Holy Spirit. He will never leave you or forsake you. Psalm 139:7-12. You are never alone.
Build your identity on being fully known. Psalm 139:1-6

Ephesians 5:1-2 (World English Bible)

Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children. Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
