A week from day is the traditional Thanksgiving Day. This month, though, we’ve been actively being non traditional. For me it’s been fun. If not for you, then I thank you for your patience in putting up with one of my whims.

Today, back to a more focused post on being thankful. God spoke it better than I ever could in His Word. And there are many, many more verses that speak of being thankful and being grateful.

I picked these three because they spoke to me on this foggy Thursday morning. Read them, meditate on them, and let them take root in your heart, in your lives.

Thessalonians 5:18: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”.

Colossians 3:17: “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him”.

Colossians 3:15 “And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.”

We are in this together, fellow believers. We were called to be in this body of Christ. We were called to allow the peace of Christ to be the factor that keeps us steady. And, again, we were reminded to be thankful for all God has done, is doing, and will do for us.

Quote of the week

Ephesians 5:1-2 (World English Bible)

Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children. Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
