A title is what is expected when you write something. We title things. Sometimes I wonder Why? What difference does it make? But, I understand that a title draws attention, relays information, explains what is to be read in a brief form.
So, my title for this post is simple Title.
Are you asking what is this going to be about? I would be. I certainly can’t tell ahead of time what I will read, the written word is the outcome of the highly complex human mind. Which sometimes insists on simplicity that tells so much more than a long, perhaps ostentatious title. Simplicty can be ostentatious as well.
And what, you may ask, has that to do with faith? Well, sometimes our displays of faith can be ostentaious. We want to highlight our knowledge. Or our skills. Or even an amount of power we claim as our own.
Not that we don’t have knowlege, or skills, or power. All of it from God, given to us to use to enable others to meet Jesus, to become a part of the Family of God. To encourage, to teach, to share a holy life with the believers who stand with us.
Embrace the life God has given you. Be it simple, or complex, use it for His Glory, not your own. And, when you are judged by the Holy God, may the title He gives you be “good and faithful servant” and may you never hear Him say “depart from me, I never knew you.”
The title of this somewhat rambling blog perhaps should be Moderatation verses Osentaiousness.
Or, even smpler, submit to God and follow His leading.
