We got anywhere from 8 to 16 inches of snow in my immediate area in Northwest Missouri in an official blizzard that started Saturday night and ended Sunday night.

My area lost no power, but although the streets are getting better, the people are still dealing with covered driveways and sidewalks. Where I live, I’m basically still blocked in. We have a plowed path in my little community, enough that first responders can get through, and determined residents can buck their way out. I’ve done that in my younger years, but now, no vehicle, and definitely not able to spend hours shoveling, I patiently wait for our maintenance crews to get the job done.

I hope and pray, if you also experienced this major snow storm that crossed most of our country, that you are doing well, and are trusting God in all circumstances to make a way where there seems no way.

In waiting mode, I’ve moved furniture. Well, pushed furniture a few feet. That’s the extent I can manage most days. Did some minor cleaning. Prayed a lot. Watched way too many weather forecasts and follow-ups. The weather fascination still lives.

Going to attempt getting some writing done today. I’m warm. My cat is content sitting beside me on the desk extension, and I’m taking life one moment at a time, being grateful for all I have, and all I missed in the recent storm.

Here’s a little pic of what I see outside my bedroom window. The office window is very similar to it on the same side of the building, one room over.

At almost 7:45 a.m. we’ve warmed up to negative six degrees here. Such is life for a few days. Stay safe, stay warm.

Blessings, my friends. – Vicki

Quote of the week

Ephesians 5:1-2 (World English Bible)

Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children. Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
