I’ve been listening to a sermon series on the signs of Jesus from the Book of John. The focus is not on the miracles but on the signs pointed to in specific spiritual aspects related to what Jesus teaches.
Some things hit in a disquieting way today. One familiar story—one I even taught back in the day—has a new relevance: the story of the man at the well and Jesus asking, “Do you want to be healed?” can be applied in so many ways.
I also watched a brief section on another series, a different pastor, on what wisdom is and the importance of praying for it. Not just once but every day as things in our lives rise that need our wisdom.
So, I’m praying for wisdom as I reread the Book of John with fresh eyes, knowing that changes in my life may be happening.

Days like today are a blessing from the Lord. I know He cares enough to stir thoughts and feelings through the teaching He has given others. Let my ear always be open to the wisdom shared by the men of God.
