I wrote this one the other day, but instead of posting it here, I posted it on Facebook. It might have been better suited for here, but that’s what I did. Anyway, I’ve copied it, and I’m offering at least something for a minimal Thursday blog.

If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, pray, and seek my face…
You often hear this verse when we talk about God healing our land. These are powerful verses. What struck me in meditating on them today was the first instruction: a call to humble ourselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from wicked ways.
Humble ourselves first. And what exactly does that mean to humble ourselves? There’s a reason it is first. What does it mean for me as an individual, as one of that group called by God’s name? Have I, have we, as collective followers of Christ, fallen short of that first directive?
No finger-pointing, just sincere seeking on this somewhat pensive day. Trusting the Holy Spirit as my Teacher and Counselor today.
