The Mystery of the Gospel Revealed

For this reason I, Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles— assuming that you have heard of the stewardship of God’s grace that was given to me for you, how the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly. When you read this, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel. Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God’s grace, which was given me by the working of his power. – Ephesians 3:1-7 ESV

I listened to a sermon on these verses Sunday, and they are becoming my meditation focus. I’m sharing this and will reflect more on it later.

One of the things that sticks with me is that a long-standing mystery was disclosed, and it involved Gentiles. Us.

These verses contain more about God’s working of power, mankind’s ministry, and the depth of God’s love for His creation.

Like I said, I’ll write more later in the week after I’ve pondered a bit longer.

It’s hot in northwest Missouri. It feels like a temperature of 107 degrees. Stay safe! – Vicki

Quote of the week

Ephesians 5:1-2 (World English Bible)

Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children. Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
