I will share a video I shared on Facebook, so fair warning: if you follow me on Facebook, you’ll have already seen the video below.

This is one of those times I was looking for something else and saw this video. I like music. If you’ve read this blog, you know how important music is in my life.

As part of this week of looking at peace, this video reminded me of just who the Prince of Peace is and the comfort found in His Peace. Life is full of many hard things, grief being a significant one, and sometimes peace seems like something unobtainable in this world. But peace is not only like the dictionary says, freedom from disturbance or tranquility. In the world, that freedom and tranquility can be lost in a moment and not regained. In Jesus, peace is lasting. A condition of trust and faith in the fulfillment of the promises of God.

It’s why Jesus came. Why, in sacrificing his life he paid our debt so we could be with Him forever. Why, in the depth of our pain, our grief, we know that peace is there to comfort us, and in time, we will see fulfilled the promise of no more tears.

If you have never accepted Jesus by faith as your lord, your savior, you’ll never know him as the Prince of Peace. Never see the fulfillment of promises given. A lot of people believe in God. But believing in God cannot be the same as believing in a tradition. In today’s world, too many people, in church and out, believe in God but don’t accept His lordship in their lives. Trust Him, and please, in this Advent Season consider taking hold of all Jesus offers. Join the family of God, and share His Peace.

Quote of the week

Ephesians 5:1-2 (World English Bible)

Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children. Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
