Romans 15:13: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in faith so that you overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

There are no teachings today for Advent, but I will share how Romans 15:13 has spoken to me.

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit fills us, becoming our friend, counselor, teacher, and comforter. The Spirit of Christ was given to us when Jesus returned to His Father God. A fulfillment of the promise Jesus would never leave us or forsake us.

And with the power of that filling, joy, and peace can live in our faith, and hope overflows into a world lacking hope. In the gift we receive from God, we can minister to others by spreading the Hope that is God.

Don’t underestimate the power of God given through the Holy Spirit. As we celebrate our hope in Christ, we can be used greatly through the power and strength given by the Holy Spirit to comfort and offer peace to a world that finds it hard to recognize what is available to them.

Being an example of all God has given us can draw people better than words that too easily fall on ears that don’t understand or have been so wounded they can’t hear.

Demonstrate the Love of God through the Hope of God in the season of celebration of the coming Messiah. Share the depth of Hope that can change the world.

Quote of the week

Ephesians 5:1-2 (World English Bible)

Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children. Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
