It is my hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. As usual, I made too much food, but I used wisdom this year and took two and a half days to prepare so I could eat and visit with my friends more easily. We prayed, ate, and talked about how God has been working in our lives, and it was an encouraging day with good friends.

This morning, I continued reading Psalm 22 and knew I’d made the right decision to change directions. The blog’s purpose is to share God’s work in my journey of faith, and yes, there will be times when there is a need to share the impact of scripture as an encouragement. But this is not the place to do a verse-by-verse study on a section of scripture.

Today, I continue to be thankful despite the tragedies happening around us. I am honored to pray, offer encouragement, and be blessed to watch people grow in their relationship with God.

Yes, there is plenty to be thankful for. And therein lies the strength God gives us to rise above ourselves, to focus on others, and to embrace that amazing love that is God.

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. – Colossians 2:6-7 (ESV)

Until next week – Vicki

Quote of the week

Ephesians 5:1-2 (World English Bible)

Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children. Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
