Praise can be enjoyable. Many styles of praise songs can lead you to tap your feet. In the faster-moving music, you can find pleasure and connect with powerful words that allow you to express your love for God within the praise music.

As times have changed, so has praise music. That is a reality of culture change. The same is true for art and literature, those creative outlets the Lord has given us.

I enjoy many genres of music. I learned to praise and worship via hymns. Consequently, I can enjoy good contemporary gospel songs. There are some praise songs done in the country style that can bring back good memories. There are styles similar to rock and pop found in religious music that I enjoy. God has created us all to be different in many ways while maintaining the basic foundation of our faith. Our relationships with Him are reflected in how we worship and praise Him.

The song I choose to share this week is a modern song done in a style that incorporates contemporary and country styles. And the performance in a church setting with a choir brings memories of good times with fellow believers. And, of course, it is a toe-tapper.

Never lose sight of worship in your life. If music isn’t a top priority, praise and worship can still be powerful and deeply meaningful and bring pleasure to the God we serve.

Until next week. – Vicki

Quote of the week

Ephesians 5:1-2 (World English Bible)

Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children. Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
