Well, Fall has arrived. The tree I can see out my living room window is starting to change colors. The cooler and warm weather alternates, and the daylight arrives much later than I like. But this is my season. Beautiful colors. Even the warm weather is not sweltering. There is a sense of coming renewal in all the natural changes, knowing when Spring gets here, so does the revival of that season’s beauty.

Like everyone, my life is full of making choices, studying directions of the results of my decisions, and hoping I get things right. It is too easy sometimes to jump into that process without seeking God first.

I periodically chose to spend time in the book of Proverbs in the Bible to learn more about wisdom. Sometimes, it’s hard to read because it shows how much I lack. But it is also rich in educating what God’s definition of wisdom truly is.

Today, I will post what I’ve been reading and challenge you to look at it to see what applies to your life.

Proverbs 1:1-7 English Standard Version

The Beginning of Knowledge

The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel: To know wisdom and instruction, to understand words of insight, to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity; to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth—Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance, to understand a proverb and a saying, the words of the wise and their riddles. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The next scheduled blog will take these verses and address what the Lord has been speaking to me through His Word.

Have a blessed week! – Vicki

Quote of the week

Ephesians 5:1-2 (World English Bible)

Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children. Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
